Dynamic News

The News Extra feature provides you with the ability to put dynamic content on your website.

The process is that you provide:

• A headline
• An image
• Some text to display the image
• A page that the image links to

The system will then cycle through active News Extras and display them on your home page for a specified number of seconds before switching to the next one.

The concept is that you never delete News Extra items you just deactivate them. After a period of time you will, hopefully, have created a whole library of News Extra items that reflects your promotional activity. To rerun a promotion you simply reactivate it.

Note the history  displayed on the right hand side on the page. You may have noticed that this is present on most of the maintenance pages in the system. By hovering over it you can see who created the New Extra item and when and also who last updated it and when.
